Vacuum Brazing of 45 Steel and PDC

Vacuum brazing of 45 Steel and Polycrystalline Diamond Compact (PDC) is a specialized joining process widely used in the manufacturing of high performance cutting, drilling, and wear resistant tools like mining tools, geological drilling equipment, oil and gas drilling components, stone cutting tools.
During the process the PDC insert and the 45 Steel body are precisely assembled with a suitable brazing alloy. The high vacuum environment prevents oxidation and contamination while ensuring  uniform filler metal flow between the joining surfaces. This ensures the formation of a strong metallurgical bond without affecting the properties of the base materials. 
The product shown above is a precision vacuum brazed assembly consisting of a PDC insert joined to a 45 Steel component. The vacuum brazing process provides excellent joint strength, dimensional accuracy, and reliability while minimizing distortion during heating and cooling. The resulting assembly exhibits superior wear resistance, impact resistance, and extended service life in demanding applications.
